Dr. Jordan earned his Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and served as the Director of Clinical Trials for a dermatology practice. After deciding to pursue a career at the bedside, Dr. Jordan completed the Accelerated Masters in Nursing Pathway (AMNP) and earned a Master of Science in Nursing, with a concentration in Pediatric Acute and Continuing Care. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2021 with a focus on pediatric neurologic injury.
Both as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner, Dr. Jordan’s practice focus is on the acute, critical, and intensive care of pediatric patients and their families. His academic career focuses on educating pediatric acute care nurse practitioners. Additionally, he has served as a consultant in legal cases involving pediatric health care.
He is active in many professional organizations including the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and the Society for Critical Care Medicine. In addition to his role as faculty, Dr. Jordan maintains a practice in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Children’s of Alabama.
